A message from Harborne RFC Chairman - Chris Keogh

Covid-19 Update - 16th March – 20:00hrs

Playing Update
Following Government advice today, the RFU will suspend all rugby activity in England across all levels of the game. This will cover all training, league and cup games until 14th April subject to continued review. No games. No training effective immediately.

As a club, we support the government’s and RFU’s stance.

Tour
Of course, it is not just in the UK where policies have been made which affect us. Due to the ban on all non-essential travel to Europe, this year’s tour to Magaluf has been cancelled. A big thank you to Rory Humphreys for his efforts as this is the second time that factors outside his control have conspired against him – first cancelled flights to Prague, now Coronavirus.

End of Season Dinner
The 25th Annual End of Season Dinner is just seven weeks away on 2nd May. We are currently liaising with the venue to discuss possibilities of postponement. We will make a final decision in the next two weeks as to whether to proceed or not based on these discussions and Government updates.

The health and welfare of our players, volunteers and supporters is absolutely paramount and our decisions will always be taken firmly with you in mind.

We will provide further updates on all of the above as and when they are available. If anyone wants to discuss anything, please feel free to call me.

In the meantime, please all stay safe and follow the expert advice.

UTP!
