Not the 'Olympic' standard set by the ones this season, but on a wet, snowy night in Kings Norton, the Vets have turned in a result worthy of the clubs name!

Supported by a 'healthy' subs bench, the injured and the aged, Klaus' trundlers enjoyed some of the support more regularly afforded to the Senior teams.

15 minutes gone, 12 points down and Tom Saunders already consigned to the touchline to have a dislocated finger corrected, nobody foresaw a travellers revival, but tries by Jethro, Matt Rouse and Speedy saw a half time lead for Harborne 12-19!

The home side showing signs of frustration, and failing to bully the referee, rarely ventured from their own half, and never looked like threatening the score board again. With Field Marshall Barbier directing the troops from all quarters of the pitch, make no mistake, this was a 'Harborne' performance. Robbie and Matt Rouse orchestrating the midfield and supported from all positions, KN, time and time again resorted to abortive, kicked clearances, serving only to increase the pressure on an overworked defence.

No further score until the final fifteen, when Speedy rolled back the years with a mazy run from the KN twenty two, to score under the posts ( Joe Wilson would be proud!). Rob Thom had a storming run encompassing half the length of the wing rudely interupted, and with the last move of the match, Jethro once again, touched down in the corner. 12-31!

Teams of KN's standard do not take kindly to being beaten on Home turf by little clubs like ours, under Mark Klaus Barbier, they may have to get used to it. A full bench, a multitude of forward replacements, the rapid, the rabid & the
committed, this was a team performance to cap a damn fine week for the club!

Pat yourselves on the back Harborne!
